1. About this Privacy Policy
Voss Meals, ABN 37 198 316 697, respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal information responsibly.
This Privacy Policy explains how Voss Meals collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information when you use the Voss Meals website, meal generator, email services and related services.
We aim to handle personal information in accordance with applicable Australian privacy laws, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply.
By using the Voss Meals website or providing personal information to us, you acknowledge that your information will be handled as described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Personal information we collect
Depending on how you use Voss Meals, we may collect:
- your email address;
- whether you have agreed to receive recipes, nutrition tips or other marketing communications;
- the date and time of your submission or marketing consent;
- your meal-generator selections, including calorie range, cuisine, protein choice and dietary preferences;
- details of the meal generated for you;
- the number of servings selected;
- messages, questions, feedback or requests you send to us;
- records of unsubscribe, access, correction or deletion requests; and
- technical information about your use of the website.
Technical information may include:
- IP address;
- browser and device type;
- operating system;
- pages visited;
- approximate location;
- referring website;
- dates and times of visits;
- interactions with website features; and
- cookie or analytics identifiers.
We do not currently collect payment-card information through the meal generator.
3. Dietary and health information
Meal-generator selections such as vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free or calorie preferences are used to provide relevant meal suggestions.
Voss Meals is designed to provide general recipe and nutrition information. It is not intended as a system for submitting medical records, diagnoses, treatment information or other detailed health information.
Please do not send sensitive medical or health information through the meal generator or general contact email unless we have specifically asked you to provide it.
4. How we collect information
We may collect information:
- directly from you when you enter your email address;
- when you use the meal generator;
- when you select the optional marketing checkbox;
- when you contact Voss Meals by email;
- when you request access, correction or deletion of your information;
- automatically through website hosting, cookies, logs and analytics technologies; and
- through service providers that support the operation of the website.
Where practical, we will provide a short privacy notice at the point where personal information is collected.
5. Why we collect and use personal information
We may collect, hold and use personal information to:
- generate and display meal suggestions;
- email a requested recipe to you;
- record whether you have agreed to receive marketing communications;
- send recipes, nutrition tips, service updates and other communications where you have consented;
- respond to questions, feedback and support requests;
- operate, maintain and improve the website;
- understand which features and recipes are useful to visitors;
- diagnose technical problems;
- prevent misuse, fraud or security incidents;
- maintain business and consent records;
- comply with legal obligations; and
- establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
We will not use an email address submitted solely for receiving a requested recipe to send ongoing marketing unless the person has separately opted in or we otherwise have a lawful basis to do so.
6. Recipe emails and marketing communications
When you request a recipe by email, we will use your email address to send that recipe.
Receiving a requested recipe does not automatically subscribe you to ongoing marketing.
You will only be added to the Voss Meals marketing list where you actively select the optional marketing checkbox or otherwise clearly agree to receive marketing communications.
Marketing communications may include:
- new recipes;
- nutrition tips;
- website updates;
- new services or features;
- surveys and feedback requests; and
- Voss Meals offers or announcements.
You can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe option included in a marketing email or by contacting vossmeals@gmail.com.
We will process unsubscribe requests as soon as reasonably practical. Australian commercial electronic messages generally require consent, sender identification and a functioning unsubscribe facility, and unsubscribe requests must generally be honoured within five working days.
We may retain a minimal record of an unsubscribe request so that we do not accidentally add you back to the marketing list.
